Executive Producer Richard Shaw worked in the performing arts for 15 years before joining Lion Television. In addition to working for The National Theatre and the Arts Council of Great Britain he was the Deputy Chief Executive of English National Ballet for 8 years and Director of Public Affairs for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden for 3 years during its refurbishment and re-opening season.

He was Co-Producer on Tanaz Eshaghian’s highly-charged documentary feature BE LIKE OTHERS, (nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and the Berlin International Film Festival where it won three Teddy Awards) shown on BBC2 as TRANSEXUAL IN IRAN. (BBC2). He recently produced Ruardih Arrow's 2011 feature documentary HOW TO START A REVOLUTION using crowd-funding.
As Head of Development for Lion he devised and developed BRITAIN FROM ABOVE with Andrew Marr (a landmark multi-platform aerial portrait of the UK BBC1/BBC2 and BBC4), ROUGH GUIDE (Five), CHINESE FOOD MADE EASY with Ching-He Huang (BBC2), EASY CHINESE - SAN FRANCISCO (for Scripps), BRITAIN BY BIKE with Clare Balding (BBC4), VICTORIAN PHARMACY (BBC2), THE SPICE TRAIL with Kate Humble (BBC2), BOMBER COMMAND (BBC1), FIND MY PAST (UKTV Yesterday).
