Antiques expert Tim Wonnacott and chef Rosemary Shrager travel in the footsteps of Queen Victoria, visiting the houses, castles and stately homes she visited throughout her life.

Using Queen Victoria’s own diaries, and other firsthand accounts, Tim and Rosemary discover the extraordinary preparations and hospitality undertaken when our longest reigning monarch came to stay.

Food historian and chef, Ivan Day joins Rosemary downstairs to recreate some of the incredible dishes cooked for the queen and reveal just how skilled these Victorian chefs were.

Tim explores upstairs telling the story of what happened when her majesty came calling, from grand house makeovers and hastily refurbished beds to stories of the queen bursting in on unsuspecting servants and secretly taking the servant’s stairs …

Downstairs Rosemary explores the servants’ world where the housekeeper and butler ruled. She reveals what life was like for the servants in some of the grandest homes in the land.
