Dennis Wheatley was second only to Agatha Christie as Britain's most popular writer for four decades with titles such as The Devil Rides Out.
But in 1947 he wrote an altogether different document, a "Letter to Posterity", predicting that the Labour government would slide into Communism and urging future generations to rise up and overthrow the state.
He buried it in his garden but it has since come to light, providing fresh insight into his life and fiction.
