Ian Yeowart and Sean English want to do something no one has done for a hundred years – start a new railway company from scratch.
Grand Central is its name and Marilyn Monroe its inspiration.
Filmed over a year, we see Sean and Ian’s enthusiasm turn to exasperation as the work takes longer… and longer… and longer.
Deadlines are set, and missed, and eventually it dawns on them: Grand Central is a company missing one vital ingredient – trains.
The film provides a metaphor for the state of a once-great industry; but it’s also an affectionate portrait of a small but dedicated group of people who just want some trains to play on.
