‘Remember, remember the 5th of November – Gunpowder, treason and plot’

To celebrate Bonfire Night, Horrible Histories presents a special episode bringing you the sometimes unbelievably ludicrous story of Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot, including how it all actually goes back to Henry VIII deciding that he wanted to divorce Catherine of Aragon and marry Anne Boleyn! Along the way we’ll bring you pub plots, agonising weeks digging tunnels under the Houses of Parliament… only to find out they’re digging in the wrong place, how a mysterious letter tipped the King off about the Plot itself, ludicrous details like Fawkes’ silly pseudonym, and how someone genuinely thought it was a good idea to dry wet gunpowder by a fire (guess how that one ended up…)! Expect fireworks! And also one of the stupidest torture scenes ever…
